Keywords are super-duper important because when selected correctly, they help you attract the right type of customer or client to your business. Start by selecting a keyword for your top ten pages.
To select the right keywords, the best approach is to create a list of winning keywords for your webpages that you believe your audience is typing into Google to find you.
Use a free tool like Keyword Sheeter to help generate some ideas.
Next, review them to determine the traffic (volume) of people searching them in Google using a tool like SEMRush – they offer a free trial. Otherwise Keywords Everywhere is free. Best approach here is to select a keyword with a relatively low volume to start so that you win the traffic for that keyword easily and move onto a higher volume keyword.
There is a set place in the backend of your website that your keywords need to go. It will generally sit under the marketing or SEO section of your website.
